The kids and I, along with Ree Ree, Momo, Raquel and Ethan decided to take an afternoon hike on the plateau. This crazy January weather feels more like May or June so we decided to take advantage of the beautiful day!
Ruby hitched a ride piggy style and the bigger kids took off on the trail.
Lila first stopped to check out the native wildlife.
And Ethan gave a brief tutorial on what we should all do if we encounter mountain lions. He also mentioned that he knows all the major pressure points and how to do take downs from Tae Kwon Do so we really didn’t need to do any of this. He has us covered.
First stop. A mysterious hole. Most likely caused by those same effers that ate our entire garden we planted last summer.
Lila walked about 7 feet and then decided this hiking stuff was crap and she preferred to be carried. This is going to be a looooong few miles for Momo!
Wait, scratch that. It’s going to be a long hike for me. Lila decided Momo (in her advanced age) should carry the younger, lighter child, while I lugged her around. I swear to Jesus, my back has not been the same since.
Even though I likely developed scoliosis, it was still super fun and we can’t wait to go back!
