Same kids, same couch

We hung out for a late night play date with Braden last night and the boys (as usual) had a blast. It's hard to believe there were ever this little:
Jett couldn't even stay awake for the playdate! But here they are on the same couch :)
Braden was the hostest with the mostest and shared his snacks with Jett.

Jett and Braden have been getting into all sorts of shenanigans over the years...

This was when Sean was in Australia...I thought it would give him a giggle to see 2 toddlers pressing all the buttons in his Porsche. If I remember right, I don't think he found it as cute or hilarious as I did?

Some things never change though- they make a great pair!
Last night they took off to the playroom to "sing."
"I just can't quit you!"

Waitin for Cole

A friend of mine that I have known for many MANY years is having her first baby soon. We are super excited to meet Cole and celebrated by going to her shower this weekend. Lila apparently LOVES baby showers because she had a perma grin the entire day!

Here is the guest of honor, Kelly and Lila.

Lila and Auntie.

And here is Kelly and I and our babies :)

My boy B

This time change sucks! The park trips are getting much shorter because it's getting dark so early. We managed to sneak in a quick trip with Braden last week and even though it was short, it was super fun!

Jett and his bestie B.
Lila wanted a try on the slide...you can see how thrilled she is! Jett, eh, not so much. I think he's really irritated I paused his playtime for a picture. Either that or he's just way too cool to be playing with babies.

Back to Reality

I think we might need to sit Jett down and have a little talk about fantasy and reality. I think he's blurring the two a bit.

Ever since Halloween he has been referring to Batman as Jett. If it comes on TV he'll say "look! There's Jett!!"

Tonight when he was watching his favorite show - guess who made an appearance? Catwoman! Lila!!! Jett's sister!
Maybe I won't have that little talk. I can't take how cute this is.

Uh, I've never seen it used like THAT.

If you are looking for a good DVD to watch, DON'T come to the Bunch household. Jett loves his DVD's like nothing else. He carries around these prized possesions all day every day. He'd rather hold them (and closely examine the picture) than watch them!

Apparently Lila thinks they are a super dooper cool toy too.

This also is a true testament of Jett's love for his sister. He not only let her play with his beloved Justice League DVD he even let her, um, stick her tongue through it.

When she had enough of the DVD she crawled over and stood up! Look how smug and proud she looks ;)
((-Hey Maddie- do you like my shoes??-))

Hello table, you look much different from way up here.

I'm just warning you....

Lila might have pierced ears soon.

I like to be the fun aunt when Raquel and Ethan spend the night. I don't like to burden the children with silly things like rules, baths and bedtime. I also like to leave them with something to remember the fun night by. Sometimes it's a belly full o brownies but this time I thought "why not pierced ears instead?" Much to my (and Raquel's) surprise her parents were game for the idea so we all headed down to the mall.
I'm telling you people...it took every ounce of my will power to not pierce Lila's ears. I can't promise you that I can resist much longer.

Raquel took the piercing like a champ!

This is right when she realized that it didn't really hurt that bad. I think she was expecting the equivalent pain of a limb loss.

Where are you going Baby???

I have NO idea why Lila got so upset at that statement....BUT it really broke her heart.
We were all down in the man-cave playing and she started to crawl away and so I asked her "Baby...where are you going?"
And before we go further with this story, yes we call her baby more often than Lila. Jett pretty much refuses to call her anything but Baby so that name sort of gets a lot of use around here.

ANYways...so I ask her where she is going and she bursts into tears. It was as if I took her favorite toy. HEART BROKEN. We at the Bunch household like to tease and torture so we did it a few more times for amusement. Every time she would just be crushed and start to cry.
Raquel and Ethan were over visiting so later that night Raquel and I decided to have a little more fun and see if she still did NOT want to be asked where she was going.

And here again...after calming down we tried again. Same thing! She is so happy when Raquel is saying hi to her....but then...meltdown. What gives Lila?

Aaaan last try. Nope, still hates it. Are you guilty baby? Where ARE you going?

Meanwhile, down in the man cave, hours of this ensued....
Ethan and Jett played lots of Lego Batman. LOTS.
Seriously...no matter what your opinion of 2 year old children playing video games is...how can you not love these chubby little fingers here?
And he's quite good actually!!

9 months

Our little girl turned 9 months on Nov 1st and along with that came the well check up and some not so fun shots :( Jett was a super big brother and went first....I felt so bad telling him to "hop on up, Peggy is going to give you something really fun!" Um, he was super pissed when she stabbed him with that needle.
He was even more concerned though when his sister got put up on the table. He always has been a pretty awesome brother :) They both had lots of tears but got over it with a lollipop. Lila got a few more sticks than Jett but from the looks of this, I think they both have long forgotten the pain!!

I told Jett to show my his 'owie' and he just thought that was super hilarious.

Little Miss Lila is never really all that little ;) but her stats were 19#11oz and 29 inches. That was right about 70th for weight and 90th for height. Jett was a whopping 23 lbs and 31 inches at his 9 month!

Trick or Treat!!

Prepare for some Halloween overload - lots of pictures!!

Anywho, Batman and Catwoman are all dressed up and ready to hit the streets!

Lila I guess technically looks more like a cat than Catwoman....BUT she refused to wear the mask.

The whole gang. Believe it or not this was the best picture of the bunch...anyone with kids knows it's impoosible to get more than one kid looking at the camera at once. Six kids taking a decent picture is absolutely impossible.
But here they are in all their Halloween glory; Baby Jacob (the newest edition to the gang), Jett, Braden, Luke, Lila, and Drew.

Jett trick or treating...he was a bit unsure at first....BUTIt quickly turned to delight when he realized that strangers were handing out candy!!
How excited is he?!

Lila's very first trick or treat :) She got a rubber ducky! Loved it.The boys and their boys...Braden was so cute. He dressed up as (as he told me) "a Darine."

Pumpkin Carving

Sean is the artist of the family so he is always in charge of the pumpkin carving. This is the first year Jett was allowed to grab a sharpie and help out too! He gave a great effort - :)

Drawing the nose.... although when he finished it was a nose with lots of other stuff. We asked him what he drew and he told us "a whale with a tail!" Um...ok?
Note to everyone: magic erasers work awesome at getting sharpie (whale's tails) off of a pumpkin.

Lila did a great job of rooting them on!
So proud with the finished product!

Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

We made the annual family pumpkin patch trip out to the wineries to try and find the perfect pumpkin. Jett was in a lovely mood and wanted nothing to do with any picture taking. He also couldn't stand the goats...what the heck Jett? Apparently this year it was all about trick or treating!!

At least little Lila had fun with pumpkins!!

This is what happens when you ask a two year old to take your picture.
This is the only picture that the two of them were looking at the camera...

The rest mostly looked like this :)

Thanks Ree Ree!!

Auntie Ree dropped off some Halloween goodies for the kids this week....they were thrilled to say the least :)

Lila is super pleased with her yogurt melts. Any present that includes food makes her super happy :)

Thank you very much, I'll take that book there.

Fave present in the box...

Thanks Auntie Ree and Uncle Warren!
