Well THAT didn't work.

As everyone is well aware of....we don't exactly have Jett on the most appropriate bed time routine for a two year old. It is NOT for lack of effort however! I swear it's just in his genes to be a night owl like his parents.

Last week we woke him up about 7:30 with the idea that he might go to bed earlier that night. However...the poor kid just does not function that early. Regardless of how much sleep he's had.
I walked into the living room about 30 minutes later and found this:

Yep, just tipped right over!
The fall didn't even wake him...kept right on snoozin till his regular wake up time of 10am.
Sigh....at least we tried.

New Neighbors

Well, almost new neighbors...
Sean's good friend came down to go house hunting - which is pretty much my most favorite thing to do so not only was I super excited for a fun day, it was also really fun to get to have such a great family living near us! They have an adorable little boy named Jacob and both Jett and Lila had a fun time hangin with the new baby in town :)

Oh and note to Uncle John: I think the Vista Murrieta Broncos might want to get a head start on recruiting Jacob for the football team - don't let his big solid physique fool you - he is only 4 months old! I think he was a bit bigger than Lila and she is just about 6 months old. And she's no small potato!

Mmmmmm. Hands.

Seriously...how cute is he?

Jett looooves his sissy.
And he couldn't leave baby Jacob out!

Ok...this picture concerns me a bit. Jacob is already going for the hand hold and looks SUPER smug about it.

There is nothing better than chubby baby fingers.

5 month comparison

So...do they look alike? Sometimes I think yes, and sometimes I think no...you decide!

Freaking Impossible

I tried to get a picture of both Jett and Lila looking at the camera and smiling. Complete.waste.of.time.
It's pretty much impossible to get a toddler and a baby to cooperate for the camera!

Doesn't Lila look lovely in her new dress? My friend Meesh got this for her...by the smug look on her face, I think she knows she looks fab. Um, just don't tell her the drool all over the front isn't really doing her any favors.

Aaaaand here are all my failed attempts. Jett wouldn't put down this turtle.
Lila wouldn't stop looking at Jett.

STOP looking at the doopid turtle. And Lila - stop looking at Jett!

Great, now she is looking at the turtle. I think I give up.

Smootches for a good effort!

The many faces of Lila

This post really has no point. Just showcasing Lila's many expressions....

There is happy:

Serious:

Shocked:

And this one is "mildly surprised":

Uncle Matt would be so proud!

Papa and Jett were out lizard hunting when they came upon an injured lizard. Apparently the little buggar had gotten his foot (paw?, hand?) in some foam stuff. They had to cut the foam out and then wash it all off with some nail polish remover. Jett was super excited because he got to "sabe the lizard!"
All those hours of Wonder Pets have really paid off!

Lila's new friend

While playing in her room the other day, Lila caught a glimpse of ANOTHER little baby. What a crazy coincidence!

Hey girl!

Um....girlfriend, you got a LOT of drool hanging from your chin.

Too Little!

Jett's has a pretty consistent phrase he has been using with Lila...TOO LITTLE! She is creeping in on his toys and I don't think he appreciates her tearing down his tracks and trying to eat his trains. He's fairly patient with her but he is constantly reminding her that she is just way too little to be touching his toys!

Choo choo!

Safely looking...but no touching!

Lila thinks the whole thing is super hilarious.

One kiss for a well behaved baby!

Lake Gregory

We spent the day up at Lake Gregory last weekend. My school had a "family day" which was really fun! It was a really nice day and Jett had a blast building sand castles :)

Sean and Jett checking out the tractor...I love this picture :)
Hey look! Someone else is taking the pics! Lila spent most of the day napping...it's a tiring job relaxing at the lake.

Jett and his buddy Luke digging...it's in Luke's genes - his dad AND grandfathers drive (ride?) on backhoes. He's practically a professional digger at 3 years old.

Big Girl!

Big news here in the Bunch household...Lila is officially ready for the high chair....and......

.....it's a good thing because I don't think this is how the bumbo is supposed to be used.

And while we're on the topic of high chairs and eating...I typically don't really like messy food face pictures but I had to make an exception with these. Can you see how much she is enjoying her little cookie???

Let's fly a kite!

Warning: picture overload. But I couldn't help it.
Jett found a kite in Papa's garage that was bigger than he was. He BEGGED for Papa to open it, which of course Papa did - how can you resist such a cute face?

The first attempt was to fly it on the front lawn...

But there just wasn't enough wind.

The side of the house was perfect!

Jett was all about helping with this fun project. Papa let him hold the string but they needed one more person to help get the kite up.

Dada came over to help - Jett was taking his job as string holder very seriously.

And it's up!!!

It was big news...even Kel and Ethan had to come outside and check it out...if you look veeeery closely you can see them on the top of the hill.

Papa even let Jett fly solo.

Lila thought this whole kite nonsense was just silly.

Learning how to real the kite in.

Papa is pretty silly too!!
